I am a lover of simple living and getting outdoors. Based in South Lake Tahoe, I mostly do natural portraiture, but long to work on more product and commercial photography. I am a mom, veteran, singer-songwriter, movie-quoter, and wannabe minimalist. My mission is to create engaging, high-quality, professional photographs for your needs.
It’s hard to find me without some sort of camera capturing moments that inspire me, but it wasn’t always that way. After serving my country in the Coast Guard, I received a BS in Nutrition Science. Health and wellness have always been a passion of mine. However, after moving to Lake Tahoe, I found myself surrounded by the beauty and majesty of the mountainous landscape of the Sierras. I ended up dusting off my old camera and taking pictures of my new daughter, dogs, and everything around me. I fed my knowledge further by taking creative classes like: Photography, Photojournalism, and Photoshop, as well as spending countless hours learning new skills online on my own. I ended up creating a business called “Karen Kaye Photography” then good ol’ 2020 happened and I had to shut down and seek work elsewhere as an Office Administrator for local non-profit religious organizations. There I learned valuable knowledge of marketing, zoom hosting, website managing (square space & wordpress), website building (square space), and much more.
